“A History of Black Student Activism at Wake Forest University” | Inaugural AWFUBA/African American Studies Homecoming Lecture

The Association of Wake Forest University Black Alumni (AWFUBA) and the Wake Forest University Program in African American Studies are pleased to invite you to the inaugural AWFUBA/African American Studies Homecoming Lecture scheduled for Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 12:00noon via Zoom. This inaugural lecture will mark the beginning of an annual homecoming event for AWFUBA and the University’s recently established academic program in African American Studies.
The inaugural lecture, “A History of Black Student Activism at Wake Forest University,” will be delivered by Wake Forest Professor of the Humanities and Inaugural Director of African American Studies Corey D. B. Walker, P ’25 who will be joined with African American studies major Sierra DeVeaux ’22. AWFUBA Kelly Starnes ’93, MBA ’14 will chair this event.
The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
